Mevagissey Gig Club

Mevagissey Gig Club's base is located at Portmellon Cove, Mevagissey.

The gigs are stored in a secure boat shed, with the kind permission of the land owners.

Directions

Take the B3273 road to Mevagissey from St Austell.
After approximately 5 miles, you will come to a cross road at the top of Pentewan Hill.
Turn right immediately after the petrol station, signposted Portmellon and Gorran.
Follow this road past Heligan Gardens, through Gorran Churchtown and onwards to Portmellon.
The boats are launched towards the left hand side of the beach - (weather and tide permitting) on the concrete slipway in front of the pub!
On event day, all gigs, rowers and spectators should arrive by the directions given above.

On event day, our advice is to arrive as early as possible.

Due to the event usually being so popular, to avoid congestion of traffic follow the stewards advice very carefully and please be patient. Assistance is provided in unloading and launching using the club's trollies.
